This relaxed sightseeing experience combines a leisurely river cruise along the River Ouse with a traditional afternoon tea served on board. You board the Captain James Cook at King's Staith Landing in central York and cruise out of the city, taking in the scenic riverbanks and passing landmarks such as Bishopthorpe Palace, home to the Archbishop of York. As you go, you tuck into a generous afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, scones and pastries, accompanied by tea and coffee, with the option to upgrade to a glass of prosecco. Live commentary from the skipper shares the history of the city and its bridges along the way. The cruise lasts around an hour and a half and is a gentle way to see York from the water.
